Heat Illness Know the Signs

Now that the warmer months are upon the area, it's important to know the signs and symptoms of heat illnesses.

Heat Exhaustion:
Heat Stroke:
Faint or DizzyThrobbing Headache
Excessive SweatingNo Sweating
Cool, Pale. Clammy SkinRed, Hot, Dry Skin
Nausea or VomitingNausea or Vomiting
Rapid, Weak PulseRapid, Strong Pulse
Muscle CrampsMay Lose Consciousness

If a person is suffering from heat exhaustion, they need to be taken to a cooler, air conditioned place, given water if they are fully conscious and need to take a shower or given cold compresses. If a person is suffering from a heat stroke, call 911 immediately and take immediate action to cool the person down until help arrives.
