The annual fall Clean Sweep is October 1-7. Clean Sweep is a program to assist St. Joseph residents in maintaining their property, however, it is not a substitute for regular solid waste (trash) collection. All yard waste, trash and appliances will be accepted from St. Joseph residents for two full days a year, free of charge. Some guidelines and restrictions apply.
This award winning program provided by the University of Missouri Extension, is designed to reduce your fear of falling and help participants learn how to view falls and the fear of falling as something controllable. Information includes how to set realistic goals for increasing activity, how to change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and promote exercise to increase strength and balance. This free class meets every Thursday between August 19 and October 7, 2021 from 2-4 pm at the Joyce Raye Patterson 50+ Activity Center, 100 S 10th Street. Please register by calling Gina Lucas (816) 324-3147, emailing Gina at lucasg@missouri.edu, or calling the JRP at (816) 271-4666.
