Scout Badge Day

The Remington Nature Center Badge Day will take place on Saturday, November 2, from 10am-3pm. This annual event is open to Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of all ages, as well as any other youth who want to join in on the fun and learning.  Listen to presenters, participate in hands-on activities and team-building events to earn your own, sew-on Remington Nature Center Badge. The Scout Badge Day theme for 2019 is WONDERS OF WEATHER.

**Linda Allen and Barbara Martin with American Red Cross will present a program on Thunderstorms, and Lightning Safety. Program times are 10:30am, 11:30am, and 1pm. You only have to attend one of the programs to earn the badge.

**Naturalist Shelly and volunteer Taslyn will speak about how various mammals and reptiles react during inclement weather. Participants will get to meet live educational reptiles.

**Make and take your own tornado. The Nature Center will have everything you need to make a twister, with a tornado tube you also get to take home!

**Work together to complete a Nature Center indoor scavenger hunt. Find the locations of the 12 hidden items, and win a prize!

**Matt Brooks, meteorologist with FOX 26 KNPN will speak on weather phenomena, and how to stay safe. Program times are 10:30am, 11:30am, and 1pm. You only have to attend one of the programs to earn the badge.
